Yam Fesitval... a little late

Dang it! I totally forgot to post at least one picture from a local fall festival. So, please forgive me and allow me to present you with a single photo from the Tabor City, NC Yam Festival 2007 - taken in November. I chose this pic because of the bright colors and movement of the majorettes' flags.

Favorite Mustang

February is much like January... only colder. So, in keeping with the "Think Spring!" motif, I am offering Blog/o/Foto viewers a shot of my youngest daughter's favorite Mustang -- from the Mustang Week 2007 photo set. She is all into yellow... and cool cars!

January is cold! Think Spring!

January is cold! So, instead of pulling out bleak, poorly lit photos from the dead tundra of the South, I'm thinking "Spring!" This example is one of the favorites for my coworkers -- who have some of my "flower photos" as their computer desktop background. I hope you enjoy it, too.

Another Portrait

Merry Christmas to everyone who follows CharlieJ's Blog/o/Foto. I appreciate you taking the time to visit and review my photos.

This month, the last of 2007, I am posting another portrait -- my son. The same day I took the portrait of Lyssi, he asked me to shoot a few pics of him. This is the best one (again, totally unedited except for being rotated counterclockwise). Enjoy... and may you prosper in 2008!

My Daughter: A Portrait

As we were leaving my wife's workplace recently, the setting sun caught the blonde highlights of my youngest daughter's hair... and it shone so beautifully. Right then, I asked her to sit for a portrait. What you see here is totally unedited (except for being rotated counterclockwise).

The County Fair

The County Fair is still a big deal in small, rural comm- unities throughout the Southeast. In our county, we celebrate the county fair during the first and second weeks of October. Just for fun, I waited until AFTER the sun set to take a few pictures this year. [The child shown is my youngest daughter.]

For the record, I struggle with shooting photos that require a flash. Somehow, the lighting is always too sharp and red eye (even though turned on in the camera) seems to occur constantly. Oh well... learning is a process.
